Today, I read these encouraging thoughts that a friend of mine wrote. I agree wholeheartedly. What a difference it makes when our focus is truly Jesus.
From the fullness of his grace, we have all received one blessing after another. For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. John 1:16-17 (NIV) John was much more mature than me. Know you’re all surprised to hear that. I’m afraid I love the New Testament. I know in my head that the law of Moses (Old Testament) is a blessing, but who would settle for law when grace and truth are available? And most of what I’ve been taught in evangelical churches over the years has been from Paul’s letters, which are amazing. No disrespect intended for any part of the bible. But more and more I’m drawn to the gospels: Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. Have you READ these things lately?! The Jesus written about there is like nothing and nobody the world had ever seen, or seen since. He changes everything, me included………
