Let us begin with a very important fact. The goal of the site is not to criticize traditional or institutional churches. Yes, some of the articles make comparisons and some of the writers do strongly question traditional practices. However, those of us...

| The more I look around me,and the more I see how most churches f-u-n-c-t-i-o-n; I am not surprised that we have so little impact. We really do have a problem with dualism. We separate our life into that which is secular and that which is spiritual. The perspective becomes I go to work to make a living. I go to a grocery store or go to a restaurant for physical food. I go to the sports club for exercise. I go to the theater or the sporting event for entertainment. And finally I go to church for spiritual food, to feed the spiritual department of my life. This is not the way scripture speaks of life with God. When we become new creatures in Christ, we become a part of His kingdom. Being in His kingdom, and His church is 24/7. It is not twice a week for 3 hours at the time. Church is not a place you go or an activity you do. I and those people to whom I am committed in a "local church" need to live out our lives together as a church every day. This week my wife and I bumped into a sister from our church on a bus. We looked at each other and said, "our church is gathering right now." Later we were together in a dormitory leading an English Club. Together the 3 of us were the church among those people. At the time we were in the dorm, two other people from our church were in a café building friendships with unbelievers. They were being the church right in that café. When we are the church as the scripture speaks of church, we realize that it is not something separate from any other part of our life. Being in the kingdom of God, in His church is something that can be manifest in any place and at any time. When we understand church this way, we can take the kingdom whereever we go. We can impact the places where we work and live every day, and the church really is something that can spontaneously reproduce and really will reflect the characteristics of which Jesus spoke of His kingdom(i.e.-mustard seed, leaven). | ||||||

We have over one hundred articles available on our site, so if you are a new visitor, you may be overwhelmed. Where should you start?
Some call them house churches. Some call them organic churches. Some
call them simple churches. We prefer to just call them churches. They
are rapidly multiplying, simple communities of believers, meeting in
homes, offices, campuses, wherever God is...
You are church before you do church. This is one of
the fueling insights of the missional church movement. This isn't a new
idea...but it is pretty provocative, especially when one considers its
implications. If we take Jesus at his word when he say...
Organic Church. I've been using this term for around
fifteen years now. Today it's become somewhat of a clay word, being
molded and shaped to mean a variety of different things by a variety of
different people.
